The ionized state of a gas, plasma, is an excellent antimicrobial agent and has scientifically proven efficacy against bacteria, yeasts, molds, and viruses. The plasma generation can be carried out under atmospheric pressure conditions and at ambient temperatures in a variety of form factors for treatment of solid as well as liquid substrates - foods, biological suspensions/solutions, water, and even gases.
